And your "point" at the end of your post is bogus. We are not good for our debt, we just borrow more money to pay interest on what we owe. No decent banker would loan based on that business plan. And worse, we simply print and create more money.. a great deal more. So we pay interest on our debt with dollars that are worth less than they should be. If I agreed to pay you $100 per month interest but because of actions on my part, that $100 I give you is only worth $80 this month, $70 next month, am I good for it? Of course not. If I give you 4 $20 bills and one photocopy of a $20, am I good for it? Absolutely foolish. But by all means, we need more debt.

Stumbled on this post, and our debt is now $17 trillion just two years later! And in a few days we will raise our debt limit and have more and more debt. We can make all sorts of arguments that sound smart on paper, but we all know instinctively that this gluttony & irresponsibility is wrong. We cannot sustain this madness.

So, debt is great and no matter what, we were born to spend, the world need us like that. Let me explain that to my kids. Children, play with this toy, eat as much as you can, have a lot of fun, buy yourselves a big car, big house and just spend the mony wisely, anyway, you will have to pay, everything is borrowed.

If you are rich enough to fly in a private jet do you really need poor people to give you welfare to fly in it? Tax breaks are welfare. If you can pay an executive $20 million do you really need welfare from the middle class.
